We were honoured to host 30 delegates from all over the world! 

IFEAT’s 12th Study Tour was fortunately on our home soil, touring across South Africa in November 2022. Piquet Buchu was delighted to be one of their stops. We welcomed delegates, some old friends and some new, for an afternoon of eating, drinking local wine and of course, learning a lot about Buchu! 

After lunch at the dam, we headed up to the distillery where the group was split into two. One group toured the distillery, learning about the process from plant to oil. Buchu Hydrosol was available to taste, for those brave enough to conquer the strong blackcurrant and mint notes. The second group enjoyed an in-field tour, learning about the production side of the plant and its history on Mouton’s Valley.

We expect that everyone left with a bit more knowledge about our special botanical, and we hope to cross paths again – hopefully at the next IFEAT conference.
